Thank you for visiting my Putney Place pages, which I hope will give you the chance to learn and have your say about this significant and consequential planning application.

Over 440 residents took part in my Putney Place survey. Hundreds more responded to the Council's consultation. Of those who returned my surveys, just 12 supported the plans.

On Thursday 07 November 2008 Wandsworth Council's planning committee refused planning permission for the tower block plan.

Parking

12. Given the proximity of East Putney Underground and Putney mainline station plus reasonably good bus links, the developers are suggesting 32 car parking spaces are sufficient. Is this:

A reasonable plan because we need to actively discourage car use in London
On the right track - but 32 car parking spaces is too few
An unworkable plans: even with good public transport it is impossible to prevent so many new residents, their visitors and others who'll use the site from travelling to it by car.
