May crime stats
The May crime statistics are below. Overall, crime continued to fall in four of the six Putney council wards. Thamesfield (Putney town centre and riverside) again stands out as a concern - not only because it's crime is far higher than anywhere else in Putney but because it was one of the two wards where crime increased.
There was a big slump in crimes in Southfields - down from 100 crimes per thousand (or 1%) to 89.3, almost entirely due to a drop in theft and handling crimes. Southfields ward contains both the Southside shopping centre and Southfields town centre; so it shares some characteristics with Thamesfield in that town centres are a focal point for this type of crime - albeit on a much a smaller scale.

As usual, figures in green denote that the crime level is either the same or lower than the previous month; red denotes a rise in crime.
