Putney4AirTrack

AirTrack is a plan to create a Waterloo to Heathrow shuttle service south of the river for the first time.

95% of the track needed to get AirTrack running is already laid: just a small spur between Staines and Heathrow needs to be laid, making this scheme affordable and relatively easy to complete.

But AirTrack must stop at Putney: the largest town between Waterloo and Heathrow by far - and much bigger than Richmond where the service is already programmed to stop.

AirTrack should stand on its own merits and not be conditional on the expansion plans for Heathrow. We need a south-of-the-river shuttle to Heathrow regardless of a third runway or any other plans for the airport.

I support Stuart King's campaign to put Putney
on the AirTrack map.

I urge the Government and BAA to agree the AirTrack scheme and set out a clear, quick timetable for introducing the service so that South London has a direct shuttle service to Heathrow.
